Happy Saturday! I know, I know… you may think I’m late on the off-the-shoulder trend, but I wanted to share a few sweet dresses that are perfect for spring. While off-the-shoulder tops made an entrance in 2016, bare shoulders are sticking around for the 2017 spring season.
If you need convincing as to why the off-the-shoulder top is a perpetual closet go-to, it’s clear that runway designers and influencers have yet to put down the trend in Spring/Summer 2017 collections. Our newsfeeds may have been inundated last year, but I can’t let go of a good thing. I plan on clinging to my off-the-shoulder dress like a scorned ex-girlfriend holding on to stale Valentine’s Candy and handwritten notes.
In 4 simple statements:
- Off-the-shoulder dresses are flattering and sophisticated. I used to scoff at my older sister for wearing “tube tops” in high school, but there is something about the off-the-shoulder look that has a flattering yet sexy vibe that is still totally appropriate for (most) occasions.
- There are SO many amazing designs in all price points. Say what you want, but off-the-shoulder dresses have stuck around by popular demand and retailers cannot get enough of them.
- An off-the-shoulder top makes a great date night look, and strikes up a balance between conservative and sexy.
- An off-the-shoulder dress can be dressed up or down. I personally find that they are great for daytime activities like brunch and the beach.
This sweet TopShop number is no longer in stock, I wanted to share a few favorites with you.
