My Favorite Fall Trends with Deutsch Fine Jewelry

In the words of fashion stylist, Rachel Zoe, “I see bold accessories as a women’s armor.” To me, an outfit is incomplete without a complementing piece of jewelry or a dose of sparkle. There’s nothing more adventurous when styling an outfit than digging in my armoire for intricate jewelry that excites me. Fall is the biggest shopping season of the year, which is why I’m so thrilled to partner with Deutsch Fine Jewelry to style exceptional pieces into my seasonal wardrobe.

An Early Love for Sparkle

I’m a firm believer in artful accessories. I remember going through my sister’s funky ’90s choker necklaces and heirloom jewelry as a child, looking for treasure. My grandmother and aunts would pass down old relics from their glamorous teenage years to gift me for special occasions and birthdays. Jewelry has always been a meaningful gift in my family, and I feel like it carries a story. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started to collect my own pieces of unique items.

Discovering Deutsch Fine Jewelry

Here’s a rule to live by: Playing dress-up doesn’t end as a child. Visiting Deutsch Fine Jewelry feels like a sophisticated version of those early days of “treasure hunting” as a child. The jewelry store is a pristine Houston institution, with 90 years of history in Houston.

I’m a very tactile person, and I always prefer seeing things up close over online shopping. Rather than feeling completely overwhelmed by braving the internet, the in-store experience allows you actually try-on the jewelry and get a true sense of how you’ll look wearing it. The Deutsch Fine Jewelry staff is so knowledgeable, and I always leave feeling so well-informed about the story behind the pieces I’m wearing.

My Fall Selections

For fall, I wanted to embody the two major trends: burnt orange and animal print. Both of these seasonal staples have gained the attention of fashion runway critics and high-end magazines, reigning as two of the most coveted trends to try.

Look 1: The Burnt Orange Shift Dress

Harper’s Bazaar deemed burnt orange as one of the top 5 colors of fall 2019. Flattering for every skin tone and hair color, the autumnal-inspired hue reminds me of crisp fall leaves and pumpkin-spiced lattes. I knew that I wanted to incorporate burnt orange into one of my styled looks for Deutsch Fine Jewelry.

Peridot and tsavorite, two types of stunning green gemstones, thrive in an earth-tone palette alongside orange. I felt green and gold jewelry would both contrast and complement my burnt orange shift dress.

The Lauren K 18K Yellow Gold Faceted Peridot Nugget Beaded Necklace is the perfect companion for this dress. With a high draped neckline, I wanted something eye-catching and colorful to be the center of attention.

When looking at the top of the dress, it’s hard not to notice the Temple St. Clair 18K Yellow Gold Round Diamond Circle Anfora Earrings. These earrings are so fun and eclectic. I love the diamond accents on the hoops.

Lauren K’s “Mischa” ring was an excellent final touch to complete my jewelry for this look. Tsavorite is one of my favorite stones, and this 5.11 CT stone is no exception! The 18K yellow gold halo ring is set in a .34CT pave diamond shank, adding the perfect scintillation.

To complete the look, I paired this outfit with a snakeskin bucket bag, a thick brown leather to accentuate my waist, and nude pumps.

Look 2: Leopard Print Skirt

Animal print is one tried and true trend that’s here to stay. Fashion designers continually find ways to reinvent functional animal print and recycle inspiration from the past. Deutsch Fine Jewelry provided two incredible pieces by John Apel to style into this vibrant, fashion-forward ensemble.

John Apel borrows inspiration from nature, making his designs fantastic statements to pair with an animal print outfit. The handmade 18K yellow gold and silver triangle cuff bangle bracelet evokes artistry that feels intimate and earthly.

Dazzling and dainty, John Apel’s Square Bezel Diamond Dangle Necklace features 1.08CT of sparkling white diamonds. I loved how delicate this necklace felt while wearing it. This piece makes an impression and would be perfect for a date night or special occasion. This necklace pops on the simple black satin top I paired with the more electric yellow leopard skirt.

To create a fall feel, I added black booties to the final outfit with a boxy faux-leather and enamel purse.

From artisan-made bangles to shimmering gemstones, Deutsch Fine Jewelry has a variety of pieces to help complete your fall look. I really loved browsing the rings, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and watches on display.
