If there’s one thing I’ve learned as an adult, it’s that sometimes our biggest fears are the ones that feed us. In my case, I mean that very literally. Money is an essential utility that we need to get by. From planning trips to buying a house, things like income and credit scores make a huge difference in our freedoms to see the world, support our families, get an education, and build a life. Little green slips of paper have intimidated me for years—crazy, I know! I’ve decided to become financially empowered by partnering with my friends at Frost Bank and conquer my wage woes.
Ever have an “off” week…then month…and then year? I’m aware these are basically a rip off of the lyrics to Nine Days’ “Absolutely” (better known as Story of a Girl… what happened to those guys?!). We all fluctuate between the ebbs and flows of life, but too often a bad moment in the day can evolve into a full-on funk. I’ve been dealing with the quarter-life crisis since BEFORE I was 25. As an early bloomer, I’ve had years to experience the ups and downs of post-grad life and the slumps adulthood can bury us in.

Happy Wedding Wednesday! Before you get excited and think there is a ring on my finger, I’m here to share much different (and equally exciting) news! You might recall me sharing the I Do Soiree from Weddings in Houston magazine last year, but I didn’t share that the soiree was only one piece of the nuptial puzzle. I’m honored to share with you that I was selected to be a Weddings in Houston influencer, sharing my tips and tricks for soon-to-be brides. While I may just pin about weddings without planning them, I’ve done extensive research on making a matrimony even more meaningful.
Embarrassing fact: up until last year, I hadn’t owned a denim jacket. Dark times my friends. I finally caved during rodeo season to assimilate to Texas life, and have never looked back. Denim jackets are now a staple in my wardrobe and instantly add a relaxed but put together look to my outfits. Of all of the spring staples, a simple denim jacket can be a powerful statement and a fresh canvas.
