Happy Wednesday! It’s been a bit of a headache here in Houston, Texas, with waters flooding our loved city. To offer some lightness, I thought today’s post needed to be as fun and colorful enough to get everyone through the week. That brings us to today’s trend report: gingham. Gingham continues to be one of the number one trends for spring. I’ve always been a fan of the fabric and love the vintage-style textile beyond explanation. What is there not to love about a textile that’s friendly enough to host picnics on?
Patterns are consistently something I wish I played around with more. Sure, I have a history of wearing some pretty bold prints on the blog (like my very first style post here or in this jumpsuit that made me TOTALLY out of my element… you live and you learn). I currently don’t have any gingham to wear on the blog (there’s a long story on why I’m halting the expansion of my already overflowing closet which I’ll be saving for another post). That being said, I still have MAJOR nostalgia for the halcyon print that I wore 80 percent of the time as a child. There’s something that is just so subtle and sweet about the checkered print that makes me want to own it in every color and sing around my house like I’m Grace Kelly. (I’ll spare you the imagery.) I’ve added these items to my wish list, because what’s not to love?
