    Moving at Full Speed

Jillian Goltzman, Cup of Charisma creator, in San Francisco

Hi loves! It’s been a rocky three weeks and, lately, Cup of Charisma has taken a hit for it. I thank you for hopefully staying on as readers. There will definitely be a post explaining this mild three-week-long black out and what caused it. Life isn’t always as pretty as an Instagram feed; you have no way of knowing what’s happening beyond the filter. (Ugh, did I just use Instagram as an analogy for life? Please stop me here.) I’ve been dealing with some family matters that have definitely forced me to mature as a person. That maturing lead me to realize that despite the moments in life where the world feels like limbo and we’re just floating in a atmosphere of chaos, this blog needs to continue to grow. It’s time to move at full speed yet again. AT&T Latino Teams Up with Becky G

    Becky G

You know that feeling when a song just won’t get out of your head? It’s been two weeks since I attend a Becky G performance at AT&T and her new song “You Love It” is still playing on repeat. Known for her phenomenal YouTube covers and her recent role on Empire, Becky G has become an adored household name to many. (I should know…I watched the swarm of screaming fans do everything from sing along to her songs and to ask her to prom.) Continue Reading

Gisele Bundchen stars in Stuart Weitzman's fall campaign.

Sometimes the way to a woman’s heart is through her closet. Successful shoe designer Stuart Weitzman knows how to win the affection of women around the world, one sole at a time. From flirtatious pumps to sumptuously sexy stilettos, Weitzman tugs at heart strings with more than 600 new styles produced each year. With brand ambassadors such as Kate Moss and, most recently, Gisele Bündchen, shoppers are standing in good company — while wearing ridiculously racy over-the-knee boots, of course. Weitzman filled us in on inspiration, confidence and supermodel muses. Continue Reading

How to Throw the Perfect Best Friend’s Weekend

Screen Shot 2015-11-03 at 9.32.39 AM

As we grow and change, the friendships of our past can be an ephemeral thing. Some come and go as quickly as the semester changes, your location changes, and even for reasons we may not understand. In my menagerie of failed friendships (we all have a few), I’ve had relationships falter because of distance and companions say goodbye because we simply lacked the chemistry we once had. Despite the amount of people who pass in and out of our lives like waves, there are a few that latch onto us in a sea of change and come along for the ride. Sometimes the sound of the ocean says, “I’m here. As you grow, I grow. As you change, I’ll embrace it. That’s what good friends are for.”

Kelley is one of those friends. Continue Reading

8 Most Efficient Ways to Live a More Fulfilling Life

    toyotaproduction1

Time is a precious commodity. We use it as a means to celebrate birthdays, honor anniversaries and plan the years to come. While time is an indicator of the milestones in our lives, our days would be even better if we could control it. We never have enough minutes in a day to feel truly fulfilled. From Doctor Who’s Tardis to Harry Potter’s famous time turner, our minds dream of a world where we could manipulate the racing clock.

How do we find fulfillment and change the world when we’re constantly bogged down in our daily to-do list? When Toyota shared their new documentary series, The Toyota Effect, with me I was blown away and inspired by the impact they’ve made in communities across the country. Toyota believes that organizations have a responsibility to impact society in a positive way. As a social good blogger, I couldn’t agree more. The company has gone out of its way to share the Toyota Production System with non-profits and organizations to help them find efficient ways to do their day-to-day work. You can watch the videos for yourself here and see the life-changing improvements productivity can create.

In my recent years of striving to lead a more fulfilling life, I’ve found my own small and unique ways to make a difference that I’d love to share with you. When good ideas are shared, great things can happen. Continue Reading

5 Feel Good Things to Love This Friday

designThis week was… well, quite the week! Who else felt far more behind than relaxed after Monday’s Columbus Day? This week, I spent most of my time working on a large partnership that launches on my blog this Monday. The project fits me like a glove and really made me think about the purpose of this blog. I’m very proud of the post and can’t wait to share it with you! Until then, let’s talk about Feel Good Friday…

    1. You can stream James Franco’s Bar Mitzvah tomorrow. Yes, you read that correctly. Seriously — James Franco’s Bar Mitzvah is a variety show put on by Hilarity for Charity, an organization founded by Seth Rogen and friends to raise awareness about Alzheimer’s disease. (via Hello Giggles)

    2. I’m having baby fever you guys… seriously. Not the crawling, pooping, crying kind… just the fluffy ones. Minnie, my adorably sweet corgi, turned four years old last week and ever since I’ve been seeing videos and photos of the cutest baby pups. For example, this baby corgi who can’t handle this pumpkin.  Is it time for fur baby #2? (via Hello Giggles)

    3. I can’t help but LOVE this post from Nicole of Lipstick & Brunch. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I went to a blogger brunch at Topgolf Houston where I attempted to golf like a pro. Thankfully, my girl friends are MUCH better golfers than me. Watch Nicole’s recap here and watch my embarrassing attempt for a laugh. (via Lipstick & Brunch)

    4. As a social media executive, I can tell you I’m a little freaked out about how co-dependent we all are on social networks. If we’re going to be addicted to our newsfeed, all of us might as well be, right? Facebook is making itself more accessible to blind users through artificial intelligence. (via Upworthy)

    5. I’m grateful to be heading to TEDxHouston this Sunday to learn from inspiring leaders making changes in my new city. This week, Levo League shared seven great TED talks to get you out of a work rut. Did I mention what a “rut” I was in about 7 months ago before moving to Texas? Elizabeth Gilbert’s “Your Elusive Creative Genius” helped lift me out. See the full list here. (via Levo League)
