I was so intrigued by the dermalinfusion’s process and enamored with the results, so I decided to bring Bare Necessities owner Christina Jenkins on the blog to chat about skincare.
Christina, I’d love to learn a little more about how you got started in the spa industry. Can you share your background with us?
I became an esthetician 12 years ago due to my love of skincare. I worked at various spas before realizing I wanted to create a place where employees were treated well and could thrive at what they love to do.
In my recent visit, I tried the dermalinfusion facial. Why would you recommend this facial to your clients?
The dermalinfusion is great for, almost, all skin types. It simultaneously exfoliates, while cleaning out your pores and infusing serums into the skin and leaves everyone with a beautiful glow.
Who can benefit from the dermalinfusion facial?
Almost all skin types can benefit from the dermalinfusion. It smooths out fines lines and wrinkles, hydrates, and helps to lighten hyperpigmentation and dark spots.
What sets the dermalinfusion facial apart from a traditional facial? Can you tell me a little bit about the technology involved?
The dermalinfusion is different in a traditional facial in that it provides a deeper clean, it exfoliates the skin while also providing wonderful nutrients that will make even the dullest appearance glow.

What’s one skincare product you can’t live without? Oh man, that is a hard one but I love, love, love the facial recovery oil. Not only is it super hydrating but it is also balancing and kills any bacteria on the skin, so it helps with pesky breakouts.
What’s your favorite skincare service to indulge in?
My favorite service is the Dermalinfusion or the Firm, Plump, and Lift. I usually alternate between the 2 treatments. Both treatments provide wonderful exfoliation and hydration. My skin always looks glowing and beautiful!
There’s obviously no fountain of youth, but we all want to know how to keep our skin smooth and supple. What’s your best tip for anti-aging? At what age should we start?
The best advice I could give is to keep your skin moisturized, hydrated and to wear your sunscreen!! If I would have known I would have started wearing sunscreen in my teens. Sunscreen is so very important for anti-aging and keeping our skin looking youthful, longer.
In my own observations, I feel like skincare used to be treated like a commodity and its since shifted to a part of our wellness routine. Have you noticed this in your work, and what do you attribute this to?
That is a great observation. I think you are right, a big part is skin cancer and the want to look younger, longer.
What are the biggest skincare trends you’re seeing right now?
The biggest trends I see are organic skin care and a heavier focus eyebrows. Everyone wants fuller thicker eyebrows.
What was the biggest roadblock you faced when starting your business? How did you overcome it?
The biggest roadblock would most likely have been a lack of sales. It takes time to build most businesses. People don’t come knocking just because you’re open.
What advice do you have for women looking to start their own business?
Make sure you love it. Understand it’s 24/7 because you’re always thinking about it even when you’re not “open.” Know your numbers, or make sure someone on your team truly does, and keep track of them at least weekly.
