Happy Tuesday, friends! I’m so excited to share a big announcement this week. I’ve partnered with The Arts of Healing Foundation to host The Art of the Happy Hour at Le Colonial in River Oaks District.
Join us for a special happy hour on Friday, Sept. 21. With the purchase of a $25 Happy Hour ticket that directly benefits this year’s charity, The Lung Force, you will receive a $50 gift card voucher that can be used at one of three River Oaks District destinations (Alice & Olivia, Baanou, and Joie; I’m obviously excited to shop Alice + Olivia!). There will be amazing cocktails, a live art demonstration from artist Rylie Caldwell, and plenty of time to mix and mingle.
The Arts of Healing Foundation is a non-profit that deepens the relationships in the Houston Medial Community by producing an annual art show featuring the physicians of the Texas Medical Center and benefiting charities in the medical fields in which they practice.
This happy hour is so important to me for many reasons. How many of us have had a loved one in our lives who needed medical attention? In all of those instances, it was a caring doctor who stepped up and saved the day.

One of the reasons I’ve been less present the last two weeks is because my father received some bad news about his heart health. Coronary artery disease runs in the family, and this news is no surprise since my brother just had three heart surgeries this summer! Still, the panic was there and all I could think of was how terrifying it would be if we didn’t catch his condition in time. I’m 1,000 miles away from my dad and had to hold it together from afar for my family. Because of the compassionate and understanding doctor’s office, I was able to have a one-on-one call with his cardiologist. His doctor answered all of my questions, weighed out the pros and cons, and showed me that physicians can be truly selfless in their effort to protect their patients.

We all will face illness in our lives, and we look to the doctors who surround us to give us a chance to spend a little longer on this earth with the people we love most. Organizations like The Lung Force help improve the quality of life for patients around the world who need it most. I’m so honored to team up with the physicians behind The Arts of Healing Foundation and raise money for this great cause. Will you join me on Friday? Grab your tickets here
