Miami’s Most Stylish Happy Hour

fhh3From stunning street attire to a booming blogger scene, Miami is having a moment in fashion. So where can you find the city’s best trendsetters together in one room? Fashion Happy Hour, a free monthly networking event for style enthusiasts and shopping addicts.

For more than a year crowds have flocked in their best OOTDs to Fashion Happy Hour and found themselves in a sea of their own. Bloggers, vendors, and industry professionals mark their calendars each month to celebrate style, sip cocktails, and chat about Miami trends.

Having previously worked for a shoe company, Fashion Happy Hour founder Valentina Leon sensed a need for a networking event targeted to industry professionals. “Miami is becoming a bigger city and fashion is starting to catch up with everything else that is going on.”

What started as what Leon would call a “petite” gathering, now has a cult following of fashion-forward locals interested in meeting others while doing what they love most—shopping. While each happy hour is different, attendees can look forward to pop-up shops from local designers and boutiques, drinks, music, and giveaways. “Everyone loves a shopping local but when you can shop with a cocktail in your hand, it just makes it so much more chic,” said Leon.

A benefit to boutiques and bloggers alike, Fashion Happy Hour is hosted by a series of Miami fashion bloggers each month. “When I started my blog, being part of Fashion Happy Hour opened so many doors to me,” said Keila Perez, the blogger behind K as in Keila and previous event host. “I got to meet and network with local brands, fellow Miami bloggers and other movers and shakers in the industry.”

If there is something that participants have caught on to, it’s that fashion is becoming an integral part of Miami’s DNA. “The city is growing and it’s starting to get a personality of its own,” said Leon.

As a fashion writer and the founder of A Sparkle Factor, LLC, a Miami-based styling and lifestyle consulting firm, Stephanie Pernas agrees that Miami is unique. “Women here aren’t afraid to take risks,” said Pernas. “It’s a sexy city and a fun city, and that’s definitely reflected in many women’s fashion choices.”

As the city’s style expands, so do the opportunities. “We have grown in the last year and a half and we are just getting started,” said Leon.
