Modernity at its best, Miami’s Design District is a gem in the city’s treasure trove. On the rare instances where I venture out of Suburbia, I am captivated by the ultra-cool, ultra-chic, ultra-Miami culture. For my first Creative Mornings Miami session, I wanted to achieve sophisticated and artistic liveliness that ventured beyond “Casual Friday” attire with a geometrical floral dress (What’s Creative Mornings? Find out on my blog here. )
My floral dress is what sealed the deal for me as I was trying on the perfect look. I’m usually a daisy kind of gal, but the bold Venetian motif on this Forever 21 dress was eye-catching and ideal. Playing dress up is the closest to geometry I get! Straying away from an expected black heel, I opted for a pair of Target navy pumps with a shining silver pointed-toe. Unsure if Creative Mornings was formal or casual, I weighed my options. For business sake, I threw on an H&M blazer for kicks. The blazer stayed on for about 10 seconds in the sweltering summer sun – a new record for this heat!
My jewelry was simple — a bangle, beads, and watch. Having switched looks 15 times the morning of, the heart necklace of a previous look wiggled its way into my shot. I have to say I think it still made a cute statement and the chain matched perfectly with my Betsey Johnson watch.
Ultimately, it is more often than not that business demands creative and bold personalities. Let your clothing say what your mind is thinking. Why not dress the part?
The look: Forever 21 floral dress, H&M blazer, David Yurman bangle, Forever 21 beaded bracelet and key necklace, Betsey Johnson gemstone and chain watch, Kate Spade Saturday sunglasses, Dr. Martens X Agyness Deyn heart satchel, and Target navy suede shoes.
