Sunshine, sunnies and oversized peasant sleeves…can you tell that I love this OOTD? The funny thing is that this outfit was shot at my South Florida home right before it sold. Leaving home is never an easy thing… in fact, every time I’m back in Florida I drive by my old home which surprisingly looks identical to how we left it. While I miss the palm trees, eternal sunshine, white sand and lush greenery, this outfit is certainly fit for any landscape. Whether Houston, Florida or New York, peasant sleeves are a precious, bohemian touch to a dress or top. I know the off-the-shoulder trend is HUGE right now, but let’s give this look another varietal sleeve a moment in the spotlight shall we?
There’s a few things I love about this look…okay, more than a few. If you know me, this is quintessentially my perfect outfit. It’s literally like the heavens opened up and gifted me this beauty. Here’s the catch… it WAS gifted by my lovely mother. She should have a blog, too, I suppose. So what’s the recipe to my IDEAL outfit?
The Perfect Sunglasses
Let’s talk about these uh-mazing glasses. First thing’s first…I don’t actually own these. In fact, I rented these Retro Super Future from Ditto, a service that allows members to swap designer sunglasses for a monthly cost of $24. The beauty of Ditto is that you can swap out your sunglasses as many times as you want or hold onto ones you really love. I’m currently holding onto a pair of Dolce & Gabanna glasses I adore. Sound like a dream? Use my code CUPOFCHARISMA to get a free month of Ditto to experience.
There was a point in my life where I wouldn’t leave home without a red lip to everyone else’s demise. This often ended in lipstick smears that would get everywhere, upsetting both restaurant dish washers and boyfriends alike. I missed the red lips and finally brought them back when I found my favorite lip color… seriously, my signature lip color. I will not live without this baby in my bag. The deep red matte shade gives me life.
Because belt bows make everything better.
Flowing Sheer Peasant Sleeves
Sheer fabrics are definitely a trend this season along with flowing peasant sleeves, so why not combine the two? This Taylor dress was picked out by lovely mom, however, it’s no longer available online. Don’t fret – here’s a similar option to try.
When working with bold prints, it’s best to keep accessories simple and understated. This bag is from my trip to Florence, Italy, but you can find a similar one here.
A Golden Touch
My gold ribbon letter monogram necklace is by far my favorite piece of jewelry. I think that it’s subtle enough to be added to any outfit, but unique enough to grab the attention of others. Unfortunately, I didn’t have all of my arm candy in Florida with me for this shoot but this versatile knot bangle is an easy add-on to any outfit.
I know the sunshine and palm trees warrant sandals and espadrilles, but I think these booties pair so nicely with this look. What’s your verdict?
