It’s springtime in Houston and everything is coming up roses—and blue bonnets, of course. The changing seasons don’t have much of a presence here, but Houstonians wait for the springtime patio weather and wildflowers stretching for miles. I say “Houstonian” lightly, as I celebrate my one-year anniversary of deciding to move to Houston. Time flies, so it’s only appropriate to have styled a rose-colored Michael Hill watch into my favorite spring look.
It’s been nearly one year since I packed boxes, cried pulling out of my childhood home, and crossed state line after state line to get to this very moment. Time is precious and as the saying goes “fleeting.” In this year, I’ve been able to move out on my own and actually make “adult” moves—albeit cooking for myself has caused a fair share of apartment fires. I started working for a company that allows me to have creative freedom. I have made really amazing friends through blogging—it’s been an incredible year.
With time being such an important element of our lives, it’s only natural to want a timepiece that reflects that same significance. I’ve been a huge fan of rose tones for years – when your middle name is “Rose,” that can happen. The Michael Hill website has a huge variety of women watches in a variety of styles and metals. Michael Hill’s multi-function watch in rose tone stainless steel instantly won my heart. From the moment I picked it out online to the day it came in a pretty purple box, I starred at it with googly eyes—you know the kind bloggers get when they can’t wait to shoot something? I love that it shows the day, date and time—this watch is as useful as it is stylish.
I decided to pair my Michael Hill beauty with a simple striped linen dress. The dress has small rose-toned stripes that cohesively tied the watch to my mauve fringed clutch, cat-eye sunglasses and white crocheted wedges. (The look perfectly paired Pantone’s Colors of the Year together with rose quartz and serenity stripes!) I rocked this look to a blogger brunch—which I should warn you can be the most intimidating thing. It’s amazing to see all of your friends in a room, but when everyone is dressed THAT impeccably the pressure to look good is ON. I received so many compliments about this look, especially about the watch. (Cue the photographed and much-deserved hair flip.)

What I love most about the watch, aside from keeping me on time, is that it’s versatile. I have worn it anywhere and everywhere—stacked and solo. What’s your favorite spring arm candy?
